Rail House Victoria

The Restaurant

Rail House Victoria opened its doors in 2017. It is an all-day restaurant offering breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner to residents, workers, and tourists visiting the nearby landmarks of Buckingham Palace and St James’ Park.

Located in the vicinity of Apollo Victoria Theatre (the home of Wicked) and Victoria Palace Theatre (Hamilton), Rail House Victoria entertains the pre-theatre crowds with delicious dinners and cocktails. An especially popular summer spot, it boasts large al fresco dining and drinking terraces accommodating up to 200 guests.

Much like Riding House Fitzrovia, it is situated within the ugliest building on its street. The Nova development won the architecturally booby prize – the Carbuncle Cup – the year it was built. To oppose the stark glass box that surrounds Rail House Victoria, we created a building within a building. The cavernous space makes many subtle nods to colonial design and recreates the buzz of a busy metropolitan station.

The Design

The decor of Rail House Victoria is contemporary and stylish, with a mix of industrial and vintage elements. The restaurant features an open kitchen, a large central bar area, and plenty of seating options for both large and small groups. There is also an outdoor terrace area, perfect for al fresco dining in the warmer months.

Rail House Victoria is a popular spot for brunch, lunch, and dinner, as well as for after-work drinks and socialising.

The Neighbourhood

Victoria is a Central London neighbourhood, named for its eponymous transport hub, Victoria Station, in turn named after the Queen. The area has undergone significant redevelopment in recent years, transforming from a primarily commercial district to a more residential and mixed-use neighbourhood.

Victoria is home to several iconic landmarks, including Buckingham Palace and Westminster Cathedral. The neighbourhood is also home to a number of theatres, such as the Victoria Palace Theatre and the Apollo Victoria Theatre.

In recent years, Victoria has become known for its modern architecture and innovative urban design, with several high-profile developments, such as our home, Nova Victoria, and the Victoria Circle, transforming the area into a vibrant and dynamic neighbourhood with a mix of residential, commercial, and cultural spaces.
